A Women’s Hiking, Yoga & Self-Reflection Retreat in the Austrian Alps

Movement, Connection & Reflection

Surrounded by dramatic peaks, alpine meadows and quiet mountain trails, the noise of everyday life begins to fade, creating more room to move, breathe, reflect and simply be.

The Mountain Within

Time in the mountains has a way of creating perspective. Away from the usual pace of work, family and daily responsibilities, there is more room to notice what we need, what we want more of and what matters most.

Throughout the week, Veronika Mayerhofer, sports psychologist and Olympian, will guide conversations and reflective practices that explore the connection between body, mind and everyday life. Drawing from sports psychology, embodiment, breathwork and meditation, her sessions will create space for both individual reflection and meaningful connection as a group.

The goal is not to arrive with answers, but to slow down, listen, gain perspective and consider what you want to carry home with you.

The Itinerary

Five days of hiking through the Austrian Alps, balanced with yoga, time to recover, mountain hut lunches, reflection, and space to enjoy Hotel Annelies.

This sample itinerary gives you an idea of what each day will be like but is subject to change.

Please note that the daily itinerary may shift based on weather, trail conditions and what will provide the best experience for the group. Flexibility is an important part of traveling in the mountains, and we’ll adjust plans as needed while keeping the overall rhythm and intention of the retreat intact.

Difficulty: Moderate to challenging

This retreat is designed for active women who are comfortable hiking for several hours at a time. Most hikes are approximately 4–6 miles with 1,500–2,100 feet of elevation gain. You should be comfortable managing at least 1,500 feet of elevation gain and prepared for days reaching approximately 2,100 feet.

You don’t need to be an expert hiker, but a good level of fitness and sure-footedness on narrow, rocky, and uneven mountain trails are important. Some sections may be steep and require careful footing on both the ascent and descent. Proper hiking equipment is essential, including trail shoes or hiking boots with good traction and hiking poles.

Our days are thoughtfully balanced, with time to enjoy the scenery, stop for lunch at mountain huts, and recover with yoga, workshops, and downtime at the hotel.

Your Home in the Mountains

Our home for the week is Hotel Annelies, a peaceful mountain hotel in Ramsau am Dachstein with beautiful views of the surrounding Alps. After a day on the trail, there will be time to truly unwind. Swim in the heated infinity pool, enjoy the spa and saunas, relax outside, read, nap or simply take in the mountain views. Breakfast and dinner are included each day, making it easy to settle into the rhythm of the retreat without having to think about logistics.
